The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega and the Resident Electoral Commissioners from the 36 states and Abuja held a marathon meeting on Tuesday ahead of the presidential poll on Saturday.

The meeting which began at 10.00am, was still on as at 7.22pm.

Although those at the meeting went for tea breaks in-between, Jega who chaired the meeting, allowed all present to go for a lunch break at 6.00pm.

Our correspondent gathered that the focus of the meeting was a review of the operational plans for the presidential, governorship and states Houses of Assembly elections.

Issues of logistics and other lapses noticed during last Saturday’s elections were also addressed.

However, a source who was at the meeting, confided in our correspondent that the issue of the stalemate over the Anambra Central Senatorial election was also deliberated upon.
