ABUJA, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Nigerians angered by a government decision to remove fuel subsidies protested in the capital on Friday and unions said they were determined to carry out a nationwide strike planned for next week.

NMA directs doctors to join strike

The Nigerian Medical Association on Friday in Abuja directed all doctors to join other Nigerians in the nationwide strike declared by a coalition of civil society groups, organised labour, and the Nigerian Bar Association and scheduled to begin on January 9, 2012, in protest against the removal of the subsidy on fuel by the Federal Government.
