| Chief Achike Udenwa |
Udenwa, a former governor of Imo State, for eight years and later Minister of Commerce, through his lawyer, Chief Mike Ahamba (SAN), had gone to court challenging the election of Chief Hope Uzodinma of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alleging that Uzodinma was not duly nominated by his party and that the election was characterised by irregularities.
Reacting, Udenwa’s counsel, Ahamba, said he would consult with the petitioner to determine the next line of action.
Uzodinma said he is humbled by the ruling, promising to focus on tackling erosion and unemployment in the state.
