Millions rain on Heartland FC from Okorocha, others

Each member of the new Federation Cup champions, Heartland Football Club of Owerri received N1million from the government of Imo state.

The team also got a new bus and were equally told that their outstanding sign-on fees and owed allowances would be written off.

Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha also gave team captain and hero of the match day, Chinedu Efugh an extra N1 million for his goal.

Similarly, the state first lady, Nkechinyere Okorocha gave the team N1 million, deputy governor gave N2 million while the speaker of the state legislature, Rt Hon Ben Uwajimaogu gave out N1million.

Equally, the team’s supporters club got N2million and will inherit Heartland old bus.

The governor assured the team of his support in their continental duty next year.

“You have made us proud, you are not only the Heartland of Imo state but the brain box of Nigerian football. We will support you in all your future endeavours,” he said.
