They have passionately asked fans to be patient even if they have to wait for a while for the goals to come.
The Super Eagles need a 1-0 victory to qualify but the players want to give Nigerians more.
Yobo says the task will be easier if the fans play their roles effectively.
He said, “We want to appeal to the fans to come out and make the job easier for us. They have to make the stadium an intimidating place for the Guineans by filling up the stands at least two hours before the game.
“We don’t want a violent atmosphere; we just want the whole stadium to be a sea of green and white so that when they walk in, they’ll know that they are playing not only the players on the field, but the fans too.
“We are expecting a difficult game and even if the goals refuse to come early, the fans should please be patient and keep on supporting us until we start scoring. That’s the way our fans do at our respective clubs in Europe. The Nigerian fans should show us that they love us by throwing their weight behind us both in good and bad times. Such support brings out the best in a team.”
Odemwingie backed his captain after a training session in Abuja.
“I think as players, we have shown how committed we are to this game by the way we have reported to camp just a day after the coach opened it.
“Even Efe Ambrose, who got married on Saturday, has left his wife and is here to serve his country.
“We want to appeal to the fans to also do their part by coming out and filling up the stadium at least two hours before the game like the captain has said, to show the Guineans that we mean business.”
The game kicks off at 2pm Nigeria time.
