Okorocha accuses Ohakim, Imo PDP of falsehood

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has accused Ikedi Ohakim, his immediate predecessor and some elements in the Imo PDP of plotting falsehood, blackmail and provocation with the bid to destabilise his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) administration; expressing optimism that the mandate given to him by Imo people would not be truncated by the discredited former governor.

A recent documentary broadcast on national television, allegedly sponsored by Ohakim and others identified as "Concerned Imo People" alleged that, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies colluded with the APGA to rob him and the PDP of victory at the April 26 gubernatorial election in the state.

But Governor Okorocha in his reaction after adoption of briefs at the Supreme Court in Abuja Thursday re-affirmed his commitment to transform Imo by embarking on people-oriented projects and programmes. Okorocha also expressed his belief on the judiciary to deepen democracy in Nigeria by upholding justice and fairness.

He urged Imo people to remain calm and law-abiding in the face of what he described as falsehood, blackmail and provocation by the Imo PDP and Ohakim.
